Blackberry-Apple Granola for your Autumn and Winter breakfasts
My favorite kind of breakfast is when I mix vegetal milk with oats, nuts, fruits, dried fruits and seeds. I usually have it unsweatened, with a little bit of cinnamon, but, sometimes, I like to change flavours or get that little extra sweet, but without sugar. And that’s the moment I think about a delicious granola. But, what’s the best way to be sure that your granola bowl does not have any added sugar? You can buy one making sure it doesn’t contain sugar or you just can do it yourself!
Granola is super easy to prepare and if you cook it yourself, it can only contain your favourite nuts, fruits and seeds.
Although It’s not always possible to buy ingredients from local farmers, I try to do use them as far as I can. For example, I add honey that comes from a farm close to my home to sweeten my granola!
Here is my favorite homemade granola recipe for autumn-winter seasons. Blackberry-apple Granola, but you can adapt it and use your favourite ingredients:
-3 and 1/2 cups or 300g oats
-1 cup or 100g nuts: I used peacans, almonds and cashews.
-½ cup or 80g seeds: I used pupmkin seeds and sunflower seeds
-1/3 cup blackberries
-1/3 cup dried cranberries or raisins
-1/2 cup dried apple
-4 tbsp coconut oil
-3 tbsp honey
-1 tbsp cinnamon.
1-Mix the oats, nuts, seeds, blackberries and cinammon in a large bowl.
2-Melt the coconut oil and the honey and add to the bowl.
3-Mix all the ingredients in the bowl
4-Spread the mixture in an oven paper, already laid on a oven tray
5-Put it in the oven for 20-25minutes at 180ºC (after 10 minutes, take the tray out and mix it)
6-Let it cool down and add the dried cranberries/rairins and the dried apples.
7-Mix everything and save it on a jar!
